WHO WE ARE
The Chillicothe Jaycees is a volunteer organization serving the residents of Chillicothe, Ohio and its surrounding areas. The Jaycees offer a full range of projects that provide opportunities for personal and professional development. Membership is made up of Chillicothe locals who volunteer their time to make Chillicothe a better place. Members plan and organize the chapter's programming, providing each and every member the chance to meet many people and learn important leadership skills.
What makes the Jaycees stand out from many other volunteer organizations is that we concentrate on leadership development of the individual. One of the mottos that the Jaycees have adopted over the years is Leadership Development through Community Service. Along with fundraising and community volunteer work, we also offer many other activities for our members such as social and sporting events. Our organization knows that opportunities to meet new people and make new friends are important.
WHAT IS THE JAYCEES?
The Jaycees is a global service organization that was established in 1920 to serve communities around the world. Made up of thousands of chapters, the Jaycees provides community service through volunteer work and supports many different charities. As a non-profit organization, the Jaycee membership is made up of men and women volunteers from 21 to 41 years of age. Volunteers are given the opportunity to develop professional skills through community service. The Jaycees provides members with the tools they need to build the bridges of success for themselves in the areas of business development, management skills, individual training, community service, and international connections. Locally, the Jaycees does many things to service the community. The Chillicothe Jaycees, along with the Chillicothe Lions Club, organize and run the Chillicothe Halloween Parade. We donate money to other organizations that provide services to the community. Our most prestigious project is called Special Santa, who's purpose is to provide gifts for needy children on Christmas morning.

Individual Development
Growing as a person means taking on challenges which improve your ability to take on more responsibilities. Being part of the Chillicothe Jaycees is a good way to exercise your personal growth. Our organization is actively involved in many projects in the community. These projects give our members experience and opportunities to be able to take on more challenging tasks.
Management Development
The Jaycees organization strongly emphasizes the development of management skills. Members are encouraged to get involved in the community and take a leadership position rather than a passive one. Members of the Jaycees learn the importance of active communications skills, personal development, and networking with others. The professional development skills learned in the Jaycees organization help it's members in many aspects of life.
Community Development
The Chillicothe Jaycees are strongly dedicated to promoting and improving the quality of life for everyone in our community. The Chillicothe Jaycees raise thousands of dollars in money and donations specifically targeted to many different organizations and people in our community. In addition, the Chillicothe Jaycees perform thousands of hours of volunteer work per year to enhance the resources and facilities available to the public. The Chillicothe, Ohio chapter also provides awareness about community issues and events.
